Celebrating Lunar New Year
Today, the 1st of February marks the start of the Lunar New Year that is celebrated by millions all across the world. Whether you are already celebrating with your friends and family or noticed the rich celebrations around the world, Lunar New Year is a showcase of rich traditions and festivities centred around welcoming a new start of prosperity and good luck.
Celebrated for thousands of years across various countries in Asia and among Chinese communities around the world, the Lunar New Year represents an important time for family reunions.
People celebrate with their loved ones with special New Year meals while homes are decorated with an assortment of red banners, ornaments and flags to bring good luck. Many cities celebrate with fireworks, dance performances and parades which help create a dazzling festive ambience. Families dress in new clothes and outfits for the festive period while children are given pocket money enclosed in a red packet by older family members to usher in the new year.
In celebration of Lunar New Year this year, we have designed a beautifully handcrafted watch box that highlights all that is special about this vibrant holiday.
The limited-edition ‘Year of the Tiger’ Eight Watch Box features a Brompton red crocodile- effect leather that highlights the importance of the colour ‘red’ as a symbol of prosperity and joy in Chinese tradition. The Eight Watch Box pays homage to this year’s lunar year’s zodiac sign of the Tiger with a hand-drawn tiger letter in beautiful Chinese calligraphy upon smooth leather. The Eight Watch Box is finally lined in grey soft suede with eight individual watch cushions to securely store your timepiece collection.
This limited edition Eight Watch Box is the perfect way to usher in the new year of health, happiness and prosperity as well as celebrate the rich traditions of Lunar New Year!
