A Look Inside James McVey's Growing Watch Collection

We recently caught up with James McVey, musician, watch enthusiast, and long-term friend of the Rapport brand, for a relaxed day in the studio. The atmosphere was unmistakably homey - complete with coffee, conversation, music, and a game of pool.
The shoot was a celebration of personal style, not just performance. We focused on capturing the lifestyle around James' growing interest in watches: how he wears them, stores them, and the moments they represent.

A Collection that reflects the Collector
Though James is relatively new to watch collecting, his passion is both intentional and personal. Inspired by his stepfather, James has begun curating a collection that celebrates memory and meaning, not just mechanics. From a vintage Rolex Datejust to the avant-garde Ulysse Nardin Freak X, his choices are eclectic - but authentic.
'I'm building a collection that feels like an extension of me', James shared with us on set. 'Each one marks something meaningful'
Among the standout moments, we explored the evolution of his collection - from a full ten-piece box at home, to a four-watch travel rotations for when he's on tour. His Christopher Ward C1 Moonphase and Tropical GMT made a strong showing in a travel case, while his Christopher Ward C63 Sealander was set into our Evo Watch Winder beside his audio setup. Music and horology - a fitting combination.
For those with an eye for the finer technical details: the Hi-Fi system paired beautifully with the Burr Walnut wood tones of the watch box. The Evo's quiet motor and adjustable settings made it the perfect companion piece - understated, precise, and elegant.

A Home for the Collection
To house the full breadth of his collection, we gifted James our Heritage Burr Walnut Ten Watch Box - a timeless piece designed for collectors who enjoy revisiting their watches not just for function, but for the memories they hold.
'A place to return to, between tours and travels'
